Obituary for William George Stiles

On October 17, 2023, William George Stiles of Martinsburg WV, passed away at Berkeley Medical Center after a brief stay in the hospital. He was born on June 5th, 1943, in Dover, Delaware to the late Clara Elizabeth Busch and William M. Stiles.

He is survived by his wonderful wife of 32 years Sharon Stiles of Martinsburg and children; Walter Scott Stiles (Connie), Eddie Fogle (wife Tina Fogle) and daughter Cathy. He also had 6 children from his marriage to Sharon. He stepped up and took on the role of father to Robert Bennett (Dragon), Christina Mercer (husband Matthew Mercer), Jacqueline Sinsky (Adam), Nicole Bennett, Ashley Meachum (husband David Meachum), and Michael Bennett. He leaves behind 26 grandchildren Derek, Calvin, Josh, Patrick, Cori, Fenris (Little buddy), Aurora (Bright Eyes), Alyana (Baby Girl), Zachary, Anastasia, Clifton Jr., Matthew, Jonathan, Noelle, Isabelle, Gabrielle, Arabelle, Travis, Taylor, Jessica, Ronnie, Rhonda, Rebecca, River, Luke, and Dylan, and 3 great grandchildren; Scarlet (Booboo), Tinsley, and Ryker. He also leaves behind a longtime friend Christopher Davis. He also leaves behind service dogs Reba, Shiloh, and Remi.

William met his wife Sharon in 1991 while working in Frederick, MD and they later married. Over the years they have had several rescue pets including horses, goats, sheep, cows, and many dogs. In his younger years he spent a lot of time in his garage working on his cars with his grandkids and children. He was a wonderful husband and grandfather and will be missed dearly by all who knew him over the years. William was well known for being stubborn and outspoken and picking on those that he loved. He spent a lot of his time making model cars and watching Yellowstone on TV and loved spending quality time with his grandkids.

William served in the United States Army for several years. He was an avid Washington Commanders fan. He worked as a dairy farmer/truck driver/mechanic and in his later life loved being a security guard at Hollywood Casino in Charles Town, WV

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Joyce Collins and her husband Gilbert, and two grandchildren Chaisten Malik Kabler and Justin Fogle, and adopted son William Deubel (Raeven).
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
