Obituary for William Mellotte Jenkins Jr.

William “Bill” Jenkins of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Doey’s House, Hagerstown, Maryland.
Bill was a WWII and Korean War veteran serving in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corp.
Bill was an engineer in the defense industry. He went on to own and operate a Chevron station in Boonsboro, Maryland. After selling the station he was a realtor in Maryland. During his retirement, he worked as a security guard.
Bill enjoyed hunting, watching sports, horse races, and reading poetry. He especially enjoyed talking to people and telling stories. For several years he owned racehorses, racing them at The Charlestown Racetrack in Charlestown, WV. `
He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Blanche Jenkins, one daughter, Donna, and an infant grandson, Joseph.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Alice, along with ten children, Suzanne “Sue”, William “Mike”, Daryl and wife Kathleen, Dianne and husband Denis Collins, Karen, Teresa and husband John Barteau, Mark, Ryan and wife Tracy, Carl, Katherine “Kate” and husband Mark Hurley. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, Sarah, Aaron, Alicia, Seth, Anna, Heidi, Carie, Amanda, Angie, Edward, Jason, Daniel, Billyray, Christian, Kris, Mandy, Brandon, Petra, Celeste, Ellie, and Rosie; and many great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on January 15, 2021, at 10:30 am at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 224 W Washington St, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
