Obituary for Steven Russell Smith
Steven Russell Smith, 54, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on February 1, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center.
He was born on November 29, 1967 in Holland, Michigan to Leonard and Jacquelyn Smith.
Steven served in the US Navy for 7 years and was a plank owner of the USS West Virginia SSBN 736. He was always giving and helping people, even donating his corneas after passing to help others who were in need. Steven had an amazing sense of humor and could always come up with a quick one liner. He loved playing computer games. Steven also loved dogs, especially his granddogs, Bear and Skeeno. He was also an esophageal cancer survivor, after his diagnosis in 2019.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Smith.
Steven is survived his wife and high school sweetheart, Connie. He is also survived by his mother, Jacquelyn Smith (Nelson), his sister Sharon Gaynor of Michigan and brother Jason Whitney of Michigan. Also surviving Steven are his children, Krystal and husband Orion, Stephen and wife Jessica, and Marilyn, and also his grandchildren, Kash Dalton, Destiny Cross, Aleryk Norton, Sariyah Norton, Korey (Mac) Norton and step grandchildren, Kevin Boyce Jr and Irish Boyce.
