Obituary for Siri Wyman Young (Wyman)
Siri Wyman Young, age 72, a longtime resident of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on January 22, 2023 in Hagerstown, MD. Siri was born on April 2, 1950 in Panama City, FL to the late Allen and Alice Wyman.
She went to school at West Virginia Wesleyan and American University. She married Glenn A. Young Jr. on May 1970 and divorced.
She worked as a Parole officer, professor at Montgomery college, IBM and at the Washington County Health department.
She was involved in serving her church Benevola UMC, Big Sisters, Washington County Library friends, playing card games at the senior center, crafting, cooking, sewing, gardening, various book clubs and attending
events of her grandchildren. Lacrosse, games, school concerts, birthday parties and holidays, she was always there celebrating her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Siri is preceded in death by her brother Christopher H Wyman and her son, Allen Jin Ho Young.
Siri is survived by her daughter, Jenny Marie Brown of Catonsville, MD, and son in law, Robert Aaron Brown, four grandchildren, Christian, Elias, Barrett Brown and Cosette Young, her companion,Gerald Dwight Kessel, her brothers Barrett and wife Patricia and Rodd Wyman and wife Donna, along with many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life service will be on February 4th at 12pm the Benevola United Methodist Church 19925 Benevola Church Road Boonsboro, MD 21713. Lunch to follow. Please wear bright colors to celebrate Siri’s life and love of flowers.
