He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Sharon May Harman; sons Jerry, Howard, Phillip, & Gregory; daughter Sharie McNeil; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was born to Carl & Margie (Phillips) Harman on March 20, 1936, in Bluefield WV. He is a direct descendant of Heinrich Adam Hermann, pioneer and founder of the 1st English-speaking settlement in the Mississippi Valley about 1745, near modern day Eggleston Springs in New River Valley.

A proud veteran of the USAF, he enlisted in 1954, trained as an A/C & Jet Mechanic, and served in Texas & Nevada. Upon returning to Maryland, he joined Steamfitters UA Local 602, opened his own HVAC company, and raised his family in the Silver Spring area. In the mid-1990’s, he moved to West Virginia, claiming he was headed into retirement. He spent the next decade building dozens of homes in the Martinsburg area before finally retiring to Hedgesville.
