Obituary for Lynn Eugene Frock

Lynn Eugene Frock, 71, a well known downtown Hagerstown personality, passed away comfortably at Doey's House on July 15, 2022. Born January 5, 1951, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late E. Eugene Frock and the late Geveva Poff Greene. Lynn grew up in Westminster, MD, working in the family business, Frock's Sunnybrook Farm, a popular banquet and dance hall destination. He enjoyed music and played trumpet in several dance bands. He was a 1969 graduate of Westminster High School where he played in the band. He owned and operated the Tasty Freeze restaurant in Greenmount, MD, until he was drafted into the US Army in 1971. After his honorable discharge, he made his way to Texas, where he continued working in the food service business and also as a bail bondsman. He returned home to Maryland in 2004, and settled in Hagerstown a few years later. Lynn was active in serving the Hagerstown community. He worked at the Robert W. Johnson Community Center, raising money for youth programs. He organized several fundraising events and took pride in receiving a commendation from Governor Hogan for his efforts. He worked in the kitchen at Bridging Life Church, and helped in numerous efforts to feed anyone needing a meal. Lynn is survived by a sister and brother in law, Bonnie and James Lusby, a brother and fiancée, Kevin Frock and Anne Evans; four nephews and a niece; Steven Lusby, Michael, Zachary, Jacob, and Katelyn Frock; and one grand niece, Emmarie Frock. A Celebration of Life will be held at Harman Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, with Pastor Jim Davies of Bridge of Life Church, officiating at 7:30 PM. Interment will be held at Krider's Church Cemetery, Krider's Church Rd, Westminster, MD on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Robert Johnson Community Center or your local food bank.
