Kathryn E. Connor, resident of Hedgesville, died Thursday, August 4, 2022 at home
with her family by her side. Kathy was 71 years old. To know Kathy, was to love her, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Kathy was born in 1951 in Richland, Washington to her parents John and Marie Kelly, where she lived
until she was three years old. She moved with her family to the Washington, DC area in 1955, because
her father worked for the Department of Energy, and his job brought them to the DC area. Kathy first
lived in Clarksburg, MD, but soon moved to Rockville, MD where she spent the majority of her childhood
and teenage years. She graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in 1969.

Kathy married Bill Connor in 1969, and went on to have three daughters. She worked at Control Data in
Rockville for many years, before leaving her career to focus on raising her three children. Later in her
life, she worked for Montgomery County Public Schools as a substitute special education paraeducator.
Kathy was also active in the PTA, and supported her daughters’ schooling in many ways.

Kathy loved to travel and plan trips for her family and friends. She loved spending time with her
grandchildren. Kathy loved being with her family and friends, and often would host many holiday
gatherings at their home in Laytonsville, MD.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Bill, her three daughters, Kim Sweeney (Jimmy), Brenna Glogg
(Danny), and Becca Connor (Travis) and her grandchildren, Megan, Emma, Colin, Alice, Piper, and
McKinley. Kathy is also survived by her 4 siblings, Marcia McCall, John Kelly (Ramona Kelly), Harold
Kelly, and Mark Kelly (Sandy Kelly), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church (520 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD) on
Saturday August 20 at 11:30 am. A celebration of life will take place after the memorial service at The
City of Rockville Senior Center (1150 Carnation Dr, Rockville, Md).
