John ‘Doc’ Dochod
Born John Francis Dochod June 20, 1947 and what a life he would live.
Outdoorsman to the Nth degree. A young trapper, hunter changed to photographer
of wildlife while hiking/camping. A never ending love of fishing, especially with a six
pack.
A true patriot, volunteering for the Air Force, serving two tours in Vietnam. Did he ever tell
you he flew an F4 Phantom?
American Legion Post 0295 had a lifetime member proud of being instrumental in
establishing this post.
John was trained and specialized in Electronic Security Systems. Music was a big part
of his life. He appreciated a game of cards, a good joke/prank or just sitting under the
stars with the radio playing.
All that knew him valued his kindness and compassion, saying he was really a nice guy
and a true friend. Validation was that kids and dogs loved him too.
John carried the loss of his parents, business partner Mike, friends Vern, Toeman, PB and
others and still would say “It’ll all work out”.
Safe travels John, we miss you already.
Services to be held in NJ, date to be determined.
We can’t say enough about the kind care John and family received from the Martinsburg WV, VA Hospital and Palliative Care Unit where he passed March 9, 2021.
