Obituary for Jo Ann Smith (Cross)
Jo Ann Smith 84, born in Hagerstown, and lived in Leitersburg MD passed away on June 23 2022 in Daytona Beach FL surrounded by family. She was born on January 8, 1938 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Clyde William and Josephine (Shelito) Cross.
She graduated from Hagerstown High School, class of 1955.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by and rejoined her heavenly family including, her husband Roy B Smith Jr. and her sisters Judith Morris and Linda Tracy as well as their spouses.
She was retired from Regency Thermographers in Waynesboro PA. She was a member of the Paramount Brethren in Christ Church of Hagerstown. She loved to travel and spend time with family especially if it included Bingo, a party, going out to dinners or just a good John Wayne movie. She will be missed for her love her wisdom and mostly her humor.
Jo Ann is survived by four children, Penny Bingaman and her husband ,Richard, Ann Blake and her husband, Rick, Michelle Smith, and Braden Smith and his wife, Mary, her eight grandchildren, Stacey, Tanya, & Terri, Christina & Timmy, Natoshia, and Tyler and Ryan, she was blessed with eight great - grandchildren and four bonus great grands and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 1pm to 2pm at Harman Funeral Home, 305 North Potomac Street, Hagerstown, where funeral services will be held at 1pm with Pastor Bruce Hanson officiating. Immediately following the services, Jo Ann will be laid to rest at Mt. Bethel Cemetery in Smithsburg MD with her loving husband.
