Obituary for Gregory Philip Kendall
Gregory Philip “Omar” Kendall, age 67, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania died on October 13, 2022 at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey Pennsylvania. He was born on March 13, 1955 in Hagerstown, Maryland to the late Philip Eugene and Jacqueline Fay (Smith) Kendall.
Omar lived by the beat of his own drum. Misunderstood by many but definitely not forgettable. One of his favorite phrases was “I’m just misunderstood.”
Omar was a U.S. Army Veteran in which he received his nickname of Omar. He was an active member of
American Legion Post #41.
Omar worked and retired from Mack Truck (Volvo) in Hagerstown Maryland.
Omar was also an active member of Christ’s Reformed United Church of Christ located in Cavetown,
Maryland.
Omar loved his cats, Indy and Mary Jane and considered his Harley-Davidson motorcycle his girlfriend.
Omar is survived by the love of his life, Ingrid Kendall, loving father of Viktoria J. her husband, Shannon
C. Myers, Jr. and Kevin Kendall with his wife, Shendelle, proud grandfather of Sierra and Abrielle. He is
also survived by his brother Michael E. Kendall and his wife, Angie and Stephen B. Kendall and uncle of
Ashley Holmes, Nicole Saylor, Jacqueline Morral, Robert Kendall, Joshua Kendall, and Rolo Kendall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Viktoria Kendall to offset final expenses.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Christ's Reformed United Church of Christ located at 22514 Cavetown Church Road, Cavetown, MD 21720.
