Obituary for Franklin Delano Emery

Franklin D. Emery, age 85 of Martinsburg, WV died on December 13, 2022 at the Care Haven Center. He was born on April 2, 1937 in Martinsburg, WV to the late Remelton D. and Mary M. (Ashby) Emery.

Franklin was a veteran of the West Virginia Air National Guard. He was the owner and operator of A&E Alignment Shop for over 30 years. He was a bus operator for Berkeley County Schools for 24 years, retiring in June, 1999.

Franklin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris L. (Lamp) Emery, his son, Michael W. Emery and his wife, Tammy, daughter, Melody A. Emery Lamon, Step-son Matthew Scott Cole, Sr. and his wife Crystal, sister, Joyce E. Penwell, grandchildren, Kelsey L. Neterer and her husband, Jacob, Kayelyn Cole and Matthew Cole, Jr. and his wife, Katie, great-grandchildren, Makenna Raine Neterer and Matthew Cole, III, nieces Kathy L. Albright and her husband Bruce, and Trina Miller, great-nephews, Bruce Albright and Garrett Miller and great-niece Ciara.

In addition to his parents, Franklin is preceded in death by his brother, Robert D. Emery.

Franklin will be missed by family and friends. He always looked out for the children's safety while driving the bus. The children in heaven will now have an Angel looking over them while on their school bus. He loved his dogs and cats.
