Obituary for Esther Pauline Lehman

With great sadness but deep peace, the family announces the passing of Esther Pauline Lehman (Pauline), 96. Gentle, faithful wife; kind and joyful mother; fun and beloved grandmother; gifted, warm teacher; above all, lover of her Savior Jesus.
Pauline was born in State Line, PA in 1924. In 1944, she married Harold A. Lehman and they settled in Hagerstown, MD, where Harold became the pastor of Northside Mennonite Church.
Pauline was a long-time and active member of Northside Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School for decades, often bringing gifts to her students. She also served with her church providing meals at the local Rescue Mission. Pauline was renowned for her pies, her large garden, and her generosity. She loved and prayed for her church, family, and community.
Pauline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold A. Lehman. Pauline leaves behind her only child, Loren Lehman, his wife Nancy, cherished grandchildren Matthew Lehman, and Sarah (Lehman) Walrath, grandson-in-law John Walrath as well as Pauline’s treasured great-granddaughters, Olivia and Elizabeth Walrath.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Potomac Valley Cremation Center, 305 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740 on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 10:00 am.
