Edward Hanson was born in Baltimore, MD on February 23, 1970 to the late Harriet and Clarence Hanson. Edward went home to be with the Heavenly Father on January 24, 2022. Edward was raised in Maryland where he attended elementary, middle and high school. He also joined the U.S. army for a short time and enjoyed learning field artillery. Edward proceeded to obtain an Associate degree in Bible studies and was proud to be a Christian, professing Christ as his Lord and Savior. He held various positions as a Senior Sales Representative and exceeded in any endeavor he pursued, including but not limited to top-rated home remodeling, merchant processing and bank services. He also worked as a sales representative for Budget Movers, owned by his brother-in-law and sister, Christopher and Kimberly Munn, in his early years.
Edward Hanson was married to Akosua Ghailan for nearly 20 years, the couple planned to renew their wedding vows in July, 2022 in celebration of their 20th wedding anniversary. This union produced three beautiful children, Genesis Hanson (17), Abraham Hanson(14) and Joshua Hanson (13). This union also produced twins, Aaliyah and Isaac Hanson who were called by the Heavenly Father shortly after birth. Edward also had a son from a previous relationship, Edward Hanson, Jr.(23). Edward was known to pull out pictures of his wife and children upon meeting people. Edward was a loving husband and father who loved and adored his wife and all of his children, he was proud of them and held them close to his heart and always cherished his beloved, “Mamaw”.
Edward admired and appreciated his family and friends and was full of life. His energy was unmatched and he would help anyone, friend or stranger. He didn’t have to know you to help you and he was admired by many who knew him. He touched the lives of nearly everyone he met. One could say there was never a dull moment and he was a “what you see is what you get kind of man”. You could always count on him to call things as he sees it. Many appreciated that. He had a big heart and loved the St. Jude charity for children with cancer. He loved his churches, Church of the Open Door, First Love Ministries and Mountain View Community Church and was committed to helping those struggling with addiction.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Harriet and Clarence Hanson and his brother Allan Hanson. He is survived by his wife, children, sister and brother-in-law, mother and father-in-law (Yvonne and Earl Agyarquah). He is also survived by his nieces Bethany, Emily and Chloe Munn; Crystal Hanson and Isabelle Hanson; nephews, Christopher, Ryan and Matthew Munn as well as a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
