Obituary for Anna Deborah Scott
Anna Deborah Scott, 93, departed this life on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at her home. She was born November 7, 1929 in Hagerstown, MD. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Rilan Scott and Faustine Isabel Briscoe.
Anna graduated in 1948 from Hagerstown High school as the class salutatorian. She was a lifetime member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was employed by Fairchild Industries and Rohr Industries and retired from Rohr Industries in 1993.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her brother Reginald Scott, sister Doris Scott, nephew Dennis Eugene Scott, Sr. and her companion William Miley, Sr.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Tara Scott and her husband Tony Kelly; granddaughter Deanna Schleigh, her
husband Eric and their daughters Erianna and Erilyn; granddaughter Turquoise Dotson and her children Chaz, Chasity, Chris, Crystiana and Chance; and granddaughter Alisha Cooper and her children Mesmerae, Andre, Ayan, Ryshaud, Rykel, Asiya and Sevyn.
Anna loved being surrounded by her great grandchildren. She was the best grandmother and biggest cheerleader to her adult granddaughters. She was also grandma or “Puddin” to many others. She kept a watchful eye over many generations of children in her neighborhood. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy and captured the hearts of many with her kindness and generosity.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Harman Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 155 N. Jonathan Street. Interment will immediately follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
